A spacer frame made of aluminum is used as standard, in order to separate the glass panes in the double-glazed windows. In order to increase the thermal insulation of the shaft package, the interglass space is filled with a special noble gas and the so-called molecular sieve, i.e. a strong hygroscopic agent in the form of granules, filling the inside of the spacer frame. Its main task is to protect the interior of the glass package from the adverse effects of moisture. When choosing a spacer frame, it is necessary to take into account the fact that aluminum has a high heat conduction capacity, so the aluminum frame on the edge of the glass promotes the transfer of heat from the room to the outside.
